The department Process Control Systems of Fries Research & Technology GmbH is dealing with the development, manufacturing and integration of specific measuring technology for the regular pro-duction process. FRT offers complete systems for the automation of such process controls.

For the acquisition of measuring data, an appropriate sensor will be selected out of the complete range of measuring methods, in accordance to the measuring task. If requested, this sensor may also be integrated into a system in combination with mechanics and appropriate hardware and software components.

To characterize the form and/or the quality of surfaces or parts, optical sensors will be mainly used. These sensors as provided in process control systems allow for example rapid roughness measurements, high-precision thickness measurements as well as the determination of form and pattern errors up to a sub-¥ì area.

In case of very time-consuming testing tasks, single parts will be tested off-line as representatives for the complete lot. FRT also offers here high-tensile systems with customized software.
