1.
CONFIGURE THE TEST PARAMETERS Set the test for tensile,
compression, 3-point, or 4 point bending. Enter the sample size and dimensions.
Select units for force and deflection. Set default force or deflection limits.
Choose test stop parameters. Input the number of samples to be run in the lot.
Set such options as fatigue cycles, multiple graphs, test average, com ports,
manual or automatic modulus calculations, and more. |
 |
|
2. START
AND RUN THE TEST FROM THE PC With the mouse, simply click
start to run a test. Sample identification can be entered for each test. Force
and deflection limits can be set prior to the test to stop the test at a certain
point. Real time graphing is shown as the test is running. The numeric values
for present force, peak force, deflection, and speed are also shown. Raw data
coming across from the test is shown as well. This raw data can be saved for use
in other programs. |
 |
|
3. VIEW A
STANDARD REPORT AFTER THE TEST The first screen to appear
includes a force vs. deflection graph. This graph can be expanded in any
user-selectable region. Data for individual points on the graph can also be
viewed. This basic report can include sample identification, load cell size,
time and date of test, test speed, reason for failure, peak force, and
deflection at peak force. For multiple tests, averages and standard deviations
are compiled. |
 |
|
4. APPLY
MATERIAL ANALYSIS TO THE DATA For those with more specific
needs, a further material analysis can be performed. This screen will show a
stress vs. strain graph for the entire test. The software will automatically
look for the elastic region of the graph and plot its slope (shown in green).
Additional report data can include tensile or compression strength, percent
elongation, MOR, elastic modulus, 0.2% offset yield point, and more. All reports
can be printed out or saved for later use. |

Using your personal
computer, C-TAP Software creates a graphic environment display and provides all
the tools you need for complete data acquisition and control, data analysis and
presentation of physical testing. Microsoft® Windows® interface, users can
easily perform most ASTM, ISO, DIN and other standard or custom tests with just
the click of a mouse. C-TAP creates intuitive, fully-integrated front panel
controls on your PC monitor displaying data, charts and test results in
easy-to-understand graphics and tables, and also prints hard copies for
review. |
