The WLICyl is a measurement device for non contact 3D surface profilometry of cylinders and bushings. It is designed for use in laboratories, work shops and production.

The measurement head offers excellent lateral and vertical resolution and has a robust and compact design. It is extensively maintenance free and is therefore suitable for in-line processes.

The surface profile is gathered with high precision in a short time and quantitative measurements are performed inside motor cylinders to give surface roughness parameters, coating defects and other surface information.

The measurement head with its sideway arranged objective is mounted on a positioning unit which enables measurements at any position inside the cylinder. Positioning of the sensor can be made manual or automated.

The design of the instrument ensures the exact positioning at the same area for repetitive measurements. This enables measurements at exactly the same positions before and after running  an engine.

For reproduceable positioning and centering the WLYCyl is put on the crankshaft housing by means of adapters. Thereafter the measurement head is driven to the measurement position.

Various cylinder diameters and any positions of the cylinder wall can be detected in software to take a 3D image of the surface.
